How we protect your data

  • All data transmitted between the app and our servers uses TLS encryption.
  • Data stored at rest is encrypted using AES-256.
  • Audio and GPS data is processed on-device where technically feasible.
  • Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel only.
  • We conduct regular security reviews of our systems and third-party providers.
  • In the event of a data breach affecting your rights, we will notify you and the ICO within 72 hours as required by UK GDPR.

Right of access

Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you (Subject Access Request).

Right to rectification

Ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

Right to erasure

Request deletion of your personal data where there is no compelling reason to continue processing.

Right to restriction

Ask us to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.

Right to data portability

Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format to transfer to another service.

Right to object

Object to processing of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interests as the legal basis.

Withdraw consent

Withdraw consent at any time for any processing based on consent, such as audio recording.

To exercise any of these rights, submit a written request to privacy@driveround.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days as required by UK GDPR.

Complaints

If you are unsatisfied with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection.
